By way of information, University Physicians Group (UPG) is a for-profit physician organization providing primary care and multi-specialty services in 35 locations. Our physicians are all board-certified with the majority of them specializing in Internal Medicine and Family Practice. Our sub-specialties include Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Podiatry, Allergy, Pediatric Pulmonary and Geriatrics. The organization is comprised of 62 attending physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants as we continue to grow and expand services.
Celebrating our 20th year as one of the largest private physician-practice entities in the metropolitan area, we have built our success first, and foremost, upon the knowledge and skill of our physicians and the high quality of care they provide. Unfortunately, proficiency and commitment to patient care do not guarantee business success in today’s healthcare environment. Yet, as other groups have disbanded or diminished in size, and practitioners have struggled to remain financially viable, we continue to flourish and grow.
Much of our success, both from a financial and quality standpoint, is derived from our ability to allow our physicians to continue to focus their energies on patient well-being and care. To that end, we have assembled a first-class administrative support team and have developed systems that greatly assist the physicians with all business management and back office services while still allowing them to independently control the operations of their practices. The result is better care and access for their patients and a better quality of life for our physicians.
